2. Preparing Fibers for Dyeing: Learn essential pre-treatment techniques to ensure optimal dye absorption and colorfastness. Explore different types of fibers and their compatibility with natural dyes.

3. Mordants and Modifiers: Understand the role of mordants and modifiers in enhancing color intensity and shifting hues. Explore natural substances that can alter and enrich the dyeing process.

4. Extracts and Raw Plant Dyes: Gain knowledge of how to work with raw plant material that is foraged or grown in your garden, as well as plant extracts, and where to source them.

This 2 hour session will take place on Zoom. The live session will take place on Feb 28th from 6-8pm. Participants are welcome to attend the live session, or review the recording at their leisure. The course will include detailed class notes with mordanting recipes, step by step instructions for various steps of the natural dye process, and a database of plant dye recipes from our recipe archive. Participants are welcome to send questions ahead of the session. We will try to cover as many as we can.
