All of the pigment used in our candle making process is from our exhausted dye baths. After using spare hours during the 2020 pandemic to learn how to precipitate dye particles out of the waste of our production dye baths, we realized how much useful color we were sending down the drain. We were determined to figure out what to do with it all, and finally landed on a product that felt true to our Lancaster County DNA - using another bi-product of another local industry.

This candle had many versions, including soy wax blended. After many burn tests, we are proud to have a candle that burns nearly 100% of the waxed used to make it. Because we used 100% raw beeswax and plant pigment, your candle may have variations in color and texture. Beeswax shrinks and expands in different temperatures. Your wax may form a crack after the first burn - this is not a flaw, but a characteristic of natural materials. We hope you will love these as much as we do.
